The paper presents description of biogas utilization as a renewable energy source used for fueling cogeneration generating sets with IC engines. There are presented similarities of such systems to marine power plants and connected with this some propositions about utilization marine knowledge and experiences for developing polish decentralized engineering with biogas power plants
