    In the paper an attempt was made to find relations between acoustic emission signals measured on parts of the thruster and forces associated with its operation. Presented results will be used in the diagnostic model of marine thrusters.

    In the article an attempt was made to use some time-frequency methods for the analysis of acoustic emission signals. Concerning the field of interests measurements were taken of some ship machinery and equipment. Signals coming from the fuel injec-tion systems of ship diesel engines, roll bearings and gear were analyzed. They were pre-selected in regard to their usefulness for diagnostic purposes.

    The relation between signals measured on tunnel thruster elements and forces coming from the operation of thruster gearbox elements is shown in the paper. The pre-sented results are part of the work aimed at the development of a condition monitoring model of a marine tunnel thruster.

    The paper presents the concept of creation of a diagnostic model of thruster based on signal estimates, generated during the operation of the aggregate. Possible use of time-frequency details for individual elements of machine are taken under consideration.

    Podjęto próbę zastosowania transformaty falkowej oraz rozkładu Wignera-Ville‘a analizy sygnałów drganiowych wolnego końca wału korbowego. Obróbce poddano tygnały przemieszczeń poosiowych wolnego końca wału korbowego, zarejestrowane z Użyciem przetworników wiroprądowych. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na możliwość selekcjonowania z sygnału złożonego, sygnałów przejściowych. W czasie analiz dokonano selekcji sygnałów pod względem ich przydatności do celów diagnostycznych.
